9 October 2013: moth in autumn

Today I am grateful for a spell of nice weather, which allowed me to go to my special place in the hills, where I saw this moth collect nectar from heather. She also reminded me of that moth/butterfly in Fringe.

24 September 2013: sunny day

Today I am grateful for an exceptionally sunny and warm day, which gave me a chance to go to the hills, where I found this enormous chunk of sheep’s wool lying on the ground. I am vegan, so can’t buy sheep’s wool, but no one’s stopping me from picking it up and spinning it. Cool!

Today I am grateful to my daughter and husband for sharing time on the moors with me, where the wind played with the cotton buds on grass.

Today I am grateful to Mother Earth for a walk in the hills. Many trees have buds now, and they are all so different. Crows glide on air streams above. The stream which I say hello is now barely trickling through a thick mess of last year’s leaves.

Today I am grateful to Mother Earth for a magical walk through a forest in the hills. We’ve been having a ridiculously cold spring up here in the North West, so this is only my second walk this year I think – and it is great appreciated. Larches popped their tiny soft green needles, the rocks are covered with blue lichens, and sheep’s wool scraps hang on fences.

Today I am grateful for sunny and warn weather, which allowed me to go out to the hills. Albeit in the mud.

A pleasant sunny afternoon – although extremely windy – showed the Islands and River in all their glory! Yesterday’s rain in the Great Glen/Loch Ness has now worked down the River. which explains the high water level. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Today I am grateful to Mother Nature for a beautiful sunny, warm day. We went to the moors. It would have been perfect, if the wind had not been so incredibly strong. We had to shout like in a night club in order to be heard. Our daughter was pushed from side to side by the wind 🙂

Today I am grateful for the fact that this ridiculous rain marathon has stopped (for now), which gave me an opportunity to go out in the hills and see the trees and the waterfalls in their New Year glory.
