Today I am grateful for moss and last years’ fallen larch needles. Together they create the softest cushion you can walk on in your hiking boots. It was a truly orgasmic experience. Hail Nature! Blessed Beltaine!

Today I am grateful to bird cherries all in white bloom. They did not smell much. I don’t know. It’s either my sense of smell diminished with age, or nature is different here from where I was born.
Today I am grateful, without fear of being cliche – I am not writing a poem, after all, for the lush greenness of everything. Springtime is almost over, we have hardly seen two days of it, but never mind: everything is well and truly green and shiny now.
