Today I am grateful to Tom Stoppard (one of my favourite authors) and all creators of BBC mini drama Parade’s End. It is melancholic and tender, juts in time for early autumn, and just in accord with my light despondency and bewilderment with the world. It ends lightly well, not triumphantly well, which, in this day and age, also seems more realistic.
