Today I am grateful to a lovely postman who stayed in his car by the post box while I realised 10 minutes before the lats collection that I had three (!) DVDs from an online rent service to post back. Disaster! Had I been late, that would have meant I would go another two days without anything to watch (well, apart from several shelves of DVDs that we already own). So I walked to the post box, and the post man got out of the car, took the envelope out of my hands (as he had already emptied the box). And afterwards he kicked a football across the road to the local kids who were playing on the sports pitch. Truly idyllic picture.
